Markets are fairly quiet this morning as investors wait for Jackson Hole comments later today. News-driven events can create sharp pops and drops across stocks, bonds, currencies, commodities, and metals, so the key is not to overreact to the first move.
These types of headlines often need a couple of sessions to work through the market. The algos create the first wave of volatility, traders rebalance, investors react, and then we get a better feel for what actually matters once the dust settles.
