Is This Asset Repeating 2008? A Closer Look at the Technical Setup
In my interview with David Lin, I shared my outlook on tech stocks, the broader indices, precious metals, and Bitcoin. We discussed how equities are showing signs of topping behavior, including weakening breadth and momentum divergences that often appear before corrective phases. I also explained how gold is repeating patterns seen near prior major peaks, and why the divergence between metals and miners matters. When gold and silver begin moving together in sync, it often signals a more mature stage of the move. On Bitcoin, we covered how it remains closely tied to overall risk appetite and tends to follow equities during defensive market phases.
A central theme was strategy during volatility and market declines. Rather than trying to predict exact tops and bottoms, I emphasized the importance of following price trends, managing risk, and stepping aside when technical conditions deteriorate. We also touched on trader sentiment and how extremes in optimism and fear often appear near turning points. Having a disciplined, rules-based approach helps investors avoid getting caught up in media noise and emotional decision-making.
